Welcome
to AboutCaldwell.com, a locally owned online community guide promoting
the businesses and amenities of this fantastic city. Our purpose
is to provide information about Caldwell to anyone who may be interested
in visiting our city, possibly relocating here or considering opening
or moving a business to our community. Demographics and workforce
data can be found under the Community
Links tab.
Caldwell
Idaho is located between Boise and the Oregon border and is the
first major city and western entrance as you enter the beautiful
state of Idaho along the I-84 corridor. We are the county
seat for Canyon County, the second largest county in Idaho in population.
Even though we continue to grow, Caldwell still maintains
its "small town" warmth and character.
Caldwell
has many activities throughout the year to attract residents and
visitors to our downtown commercial area. The Indian Creek
Festival, held on the third Saturday in September, draws thousands
of people and includes three entertainment stages, a Rubber Duck
Race, a Cardboard Kayak Race and a Tug of War Contest across "the
creek". The event features a Classic Car Show with over
200 entries, a Pancake Breakfast put on by the Caldwell Firefighters
Auxillary, a "Fun Run & Walk" sponsored by the Caldwell
Kiwanis Club and many exhibtor and food booths. Other activities
put on by the City of Caldwell, local businesses and various non-profit
organizations include the Annual 4th of July Parade with Car Show
and Fireworks, the Treasure Valley Night Light Christmas Parade,
the Caldwell
Winter Wonderland Christmas Light Display and the Local
Legends Talent Show benefitting Special Olympics. If you like
the blues, be sure to check out Blues
On The Banks that takes place every August.
Other
reasons to visit or consider Caldwell as your next "home"
are:
- Home
of the College of Idaho and the Idaho campus of Treasure Valley
Community College
- Close
to several of Idaho's award winning vineyards and wineries
- Hunting
and fishing along the Boise River and Snake River
- Two
18 hole golf courses
- Just
a short drive to the Boise Airport
Hopefully
we have whet your appetite to come to our fabulous city. If you
